Beitna
The Davis Arab Community Diwan, in collaboration with Davis Arab-related organizations city wide, brings the Davis community together to recognize Arab American Heritage Month through Beitna: A Gathering for Arab Heritage, Culture, and Solidarity. Beitna, meaning “our house” in Arabic, features art displays, cultural performances, kids programming, poetry, food, and crafts, that highlight the richness and diversity of Arab culture. It’s a space to connect, learn, and engage with Arab American heritage while fostering community, solidarity and cultural pride.
Cultural eventEvening on the Quad
The Davis Arab Community Diwan has collaborated with Davis Arab-related organizations, campus departments, faculty, and community partners to host Evening on the Quad, a fall welcome event for Arab and Arab American students at UC Davis.The event creates a space to share culture, build community, and connect students with campus and local organizations.

Community learningEducational Programming
The Davis Arab Community Diwan has initiated and co-sponsored educational programming focused on Arab and Arab American history, identity, and current issues. This includes programs addressing anti-Arab hate, anti-Palestinian racism, and broader community education.
Davis Arab Community Potlucks
Where it all began, the Davis Arab Community Potlucks are held three times a year to bring Arab community members together with friends and family to share food, conversation, and connection. These gatherings continue to be an important part of building and sustaining community.

Tatreez Circle
The Davis Arab Community Diwan hosts a regular community gathering centered on Palestinian tatreez, the traditional cross-stitch embroidery. The Davis Tatreez Circle serves as a space for cultural preservation, creativity, and therapeutic community connection.

Arab Community History Project
Community history projectThe Davis Arab Community Diwan is currently gathering stories, photographs, flyers, and other historical materials that reflect the presence and experiences of the Arab community in Davis, at UC Davis, and throughout Yolo County.
